Exodus 15:26 “...for I am the Lord, your healer.”

This weekend we had a rock festival near where I live. It was not just any rock festival, it was a Christian rock festival. Now I could go on about the big name bands who headlined the shows, I could talk about the music or the weather, or even the side entertainments. I would rather tell you, share with you, and rejoice with you about something else that happened. There was a ministry tent set up at the concert where people could be prayed with or prayed over. It was a place for outreach to people in need. It certainly was a blessing because people were prayed over and healed. There was an outbreak of healing that came down on the festival.

A girl had injured her knee badly when she was four years old. She ran out of the house and into the woods with her abusive father chasing her threatening to kill her. She ran, fell, and hurt her knee badly enough that since then she has not been able walk without a bulky knee brace. At this concert, during one of the praise songs sung by one of the headliner bands, her knee started working again! The brace fell off and there was no pain! She was dancing up and down with joy for the first time in many years!.

There was an older, middle age, woman also at the concert. She could not see because she had cataracts. Some people at the prayer tent prayed for her healing, and she started crying. As she cried the cataracts disappeared and she went reading everything she could! She read t-shirts, tattoos, pamphlets, programs, she saw her husbands face and cried some more. She could see again for the first time in nearly a two decades!

There were other stories as well, other people at this small festival - where no more than a thousand or so people showed up - who were also healed of everything from headaches to not having any feeling in their feet and legs., but these two are all I really have space to write about.

This fact amazes me, that we have a God who heals! He heals us of sickness, of disease, and also of sin. We have a God who desires to, and will heal us first before we can even ask any questions about it! Lets praise Our Lord who chooses to heal us and to redeem us, to save us and forgive us, to aid our faltering steps and to guide our weary path. We have a wonderful God! What healing do you need and what is stopping you from approaching your Loving Father about it?

Come, ye disconsolate, where’er ye languish,
Come to the mercy seat, fervently kneel.
Here bring your wounded hearts, here tell your anguish;
Earth has no sorrow that heaven cannot heal.

Joy of the desolate, light of the straying,
Hope of the penitent, fadeless and pure!
Here speaks the Comforter, tenderly saying,
“Earth has no sorrow that Heaven cannot cure.”

Here see the Bread of Life, see waters flowing
Forth from the throne of God, pure from above.
Come to the feast of love; come, ever knowing
Earth has no sorrow but heaven can remove.
